Vintage Valentine Inspired Wedding

With Valentine’s Day merely a week away, I was inspired to create a Valentine wedding theme board that was a little more subtle in coloring – using blush pinks, beige and champagne hues, along with ivory.  And, with Vintage items trending in the wedding world, adding touches of lace, burlap, pearl, and antique brooches really adds to the delicate beauty to the overall theme.

The bride would be dressed in a vintage lace ivory gown, hair pulled back in ringlets in a 1950’s style, topped with a birdcage veil adorned with lace or fabric flowers or a lovely vintage brooch.

Because Pittsburgh in February will not allow for any kind of outdoor ceremony, the choice of an old church location, or a rustic barn (heated of course!) would be perfect to carry out this romantic theme. Sprigs of baby’s breath could hang at the ends of each wooden pew with burlap bows or cones.

Reception Tables, suggested wooden, or tables covered in light pink chiffon linens would have burlap and lace runners, shades of pink and champagne mason jars filled with baby’s breath and other ivory and pink shaded flowers, with burlap table number pennants hanging from the center jar.

Lace Garland can line walls and ceilings of the reception location or the front of the guest and head tables mixed with burlap elements.  The wedding cake would be a masterpiece with lace-like elements and edible pearls and flowers.  Any stationery items can be simple, wrapped in lace and twine – the above photo shows a sweet, pink heart stamped in the RSVP corner.

Of course – it is a VALENTINE inspired wedding so added touches of “love” would be perfect, whether it be a love-related quote on your stationery items, “heart” shaped pink cookies and candies at your dessert table, or even small wooden hearts for guests to share advice to the bride and groom (tossed in a large mason jar for later viewing and as a keepsake).

Choosing the month of February for a wedding can be quite a risk in the city of Pittsburgh, but with the choice of the right venue, this rustic, romantic, vintage Valentine theme would stand out among the most beautiful of weddings!
