Using Social Media to Document Your Wedding

Why not take advantage of the technology the majority of us use consistently throughout the day, to record those wonderful candid moments at your wedding!

We do NOT suggest replacing a professional photographer with this option – your photographer will be sure to take the photos that you want and need, but social media is a great option to capture crazy, fun candid moments!

SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIONS –

1.  FACEBOOK – You may consider starting a “Wedding” Facebook page once you’re engaged. Post a link to your FACEBOOK page on your wedding website or on your Save the Dates.   This way, friends and family sharing in any wedding festivities (engagement party, bridal shower, bachelor party, bachelorette party, wedding ceremony, and wedding reception) will be able to share any photos along the entire way!

2.  TWITTER – Create a #hashtag for your wedding festivities and share via your wedding website as well as your Save the Date

3.  INSTAGRAM – Create a #hashtag for your wedding festivities and share via your wedding website as well as your Save the Date

Example – #JLongWedding (Be sure to search your #hashtag prior to listing it – there may be others using this tag – try to choose one previously unused to avoid any confusion)

After each wedding event, we would suggest saving the photos that have already been shared (can use Dropbox) – and always have a back up to your hard drive via Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc.
