Oscar Party

And the Oscar Goes To…

Are you celebrating the Oscars tomorrow night? You may want to plan on it since, if you do live in Pittsburgh, most likely you will be snowed in! If you are planning an Oscar Party and your friends/family live close enough to trek through the snow, then here are some fun, inexpensive decorating and preparation ideas for you!

Of course, a red carpet is a must for your guests to arrive – since an outdoor red carpet may be covered in snow, if you have a foyer or entryway into your home and a red plastic tablecloth roll, you can still have an award-winning entrance for your Oscar guests. (Can pick up a plastic tablecloth roll at your local Party City, etc.) oscarredcarpet

For additional decor, the Dollar Tree sells gold and red star helium balloons for only $1 each!   Gather a bunch for your table centerpiece, to surround your inner doorway, or even to hang next to your television on both sides.

Because the Oscars are later in the evening, you shouldn’t have to provide dinner, but instead, take advantage of the amazing Pittsburgh Popcorn (at 5 locations throughout the city) and create a popcorn buffet for your guests to munch throughout the evening!  For a Signature alcoholic drink, celebrate giving the gold award with The 24 Carat Champagne Cocktail made for Champagne, Goldschlager, and raspberries! YUM!

While watching and choosing your Best and Worst Dressed, have each guest complete an Oscar Ballot choosing the winners for the evening – you could even have a prize for the person choosing the most correct winners! (Maybe a nice big bag of Pittsburgh Popcorn to take home).
