Disney’s “FROZEN” Inspired Birthday Party

Joining in the mania happening recently with Disney’s release of “Frozen,” (DVD release this week!) it only makes sense to have a Frozen Inspired Birthday Inspiration Board!  Sadly, the movie’s release came a little too close my daughter’s birthday in January, as I’m sure this party theme would’ve been a given! Perhaps, next year!  (Coincidentally, “Frozen” is playing on my TV right now!)

Being that my children’s birthdays are not in the summer, this movie really embraces the winter, which I love! If you don’t have the space in your home for this birthday party, then choosing an Ice Skating Arena would be perfect! The CAL U Ice Skate Rink IS available for parties during the winter season! AND…PPG Place itself looks like an ice castle made all of glass!  If Downtown Pittsburgh isn’t close enough for your party, I’m sure there would be a local ice skating rink that would be available for rental.

If you’re welcoming guests into your home, I love the idea of letting the birthday boy/girl assist with the decor.  Create ice balloons (colored light blue, dark blue, white, and purple) to line your walkway!  These ice balloons could also represent the “Love” rocks/trolls that raised Christoff!  Make them silver with some moss and add little love message signs up the walkway! If the party is closer to the evening and the balloons would be unseen, intertwine mason jars filled with rock salt and tea lights to create a twinkling walkway for your guests!   If the amount of snow is limited at the time of your party, spray each mason jar and ice balloon with fake snow to enhance the winter theme.

Love the idea of hanging marshmallow or cotton ball garland in the door ways, over the windows, or from the ceilings over the guest or food tables!  Depending on the age of your group, you can choose between a hot chocolate bar (great for the winter season, of course!) or a snow cone bar (who says you can’t have a Frozen theme in the summer!)

A Rocky Candy Topiary can act as an “ice” centerpiece for the guest tables while place settings can include a little favor kit of snow man (Olaf inspired!) parts for each child stating, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Bowls of Jello Ice Cubes could adorn the table for the kids to munch on, Olaf Cupcakes, Snow Cap Punch, and additional rock candy, and other Frozen inspired fun foods!  Don’t forget the mounds of fake cotton snow underneath!

Games can include real or fake snowball fights for fun, or an adult assistance craft, such as putting together your own snow globe to take home.

Even though winter tends to be the least fun of the birthday months, “LET IT GO!” (haha…had to reference the song somehow!) and make it the best by creating this “Frozen” birthday party!

And don’t forget to that wonderful “Frozen” soundtrack playing in the background! The kids will surely be singing along (and probably most of the adults)!
