In leu of the release of 50 Shades of Grey on DVD and Blu-Ray, why not make this an excuse for a 50 SHADES LADIES’ NIGHT!
Invite your guests using a “Contract” for their review rather than a traditional invitation.
“Mr. Grey will see you now”…no better way to welcome your guests than with a great photo of Christian Grey covering the door. Provide “Grey” masks for a fun, photo-prompting favor to wear during the evening.
“YOU MUST EAT”
Because 50 Shades encompasses the importance of food, there are many ideas whether you choose to have bite size treats or having a full meal. Lining the wall behind your food table with various shades of grey in an ombre style and adding quotes to labels in each treat create a great backdrop to your guests’ dining experience. White Roses (Innocence) and Deep Red Roses (Not-so-innocent) could act as centerpieces.
“All you do is tip and swallow. I think you can manage that.” (Christian referring to Ana’s first taste of an oyster) Treat your guests to Oysters on the Half Shell as they mingle.
“This chicken caesar is delicious. To my surprise, I’m famished, and for the first time since I’ve been with him, I finish my meal before he does.” Rather than a sit-down meal, keep the bites small and provide these mini-caesar salad bites.
“Forty-five minutes later, we pause our packing for the house specialty, my lasagna, Kate opens a bottle of wine, and we sit amongst the boxes eating, quaffing cheap red wine, and watching crap TV.” To stick with small portions, serve these bite-sized lasagna (could vary the recipe with ingredients of your choice). Add some toothpicks for easy pick-up as well.
“The beef is delicious and served with roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and green beans. It is even more palatable since Christian manages to retain his good-humor for the rest of the meal. I suspect that it’s because I’m eating so heartily.” Your guests can enjoy hand-held beef wellingtons throughout the evening while having small, clear plastic cups of carrots, ranch dressing/dip coating the bottom as a vegetable snack.
And for dessert, red velvet would be the perfect way to complete the meal! These red velvet cake pops look delectable! If you don’t have time to make your own, stop at a local bakery.
Entertain the ladies by playing the new 50 Shades of Grey Game or enjoy your meal while watching the 50 Shades!
A perfect excuse to have a ladies’ night! ENJOY!
